Herbert William Davis, Jr. commissioned H.C.Hanson to design this boat in 1929, and he continued his plans after the stock market crash. He was a recent widower, and both his parents had died, too. With two unemanicipated sons, his design requirements included three bunks, substantial headroom, and a one- level living area.
We are grateful to the Bolins and the Birdseyes for loving and cruising Comrade for so many decades. We thank Haven Boatworks for masterminding our renovation work.
We have enjoyed bringing Comrade back into our family and bringing our renovation budget to the Port Townsend professionals who keep our boats seaworthy and beautiful. We have repowered, rewired, rebuilt the hull, and more. We look forward to welcoming you to Comrade too.
