Join us in honoring the mariners and community members we have lost over the past year. The Bell Toll Ceremony will take place in the First Fed Commons, led by renowned sailmaker and mariner Carol Hasse, who will read the names of those who have crossed the bar.

“Crossing the bar” is a term used by mariners and other military that refers to the transition from life to death. A bell will ring eight times, to mark the end of the departed’s watch on this world.
