I started this boat just as I retired in 2017. I added an extra year to the build due to a serious pulmonary illness, but I was able to recover and spend the next seven years completing the salt-water cruiser of my dreams. Prior to this I built a Pygmy Coho kayak and a 16 ft. Devlin Candlefish. And during the build I took time out to build a 48-inch Colin Angus Bumblebee for a granddaughter, all of which helped with my skills and confidence with epoxy and curved angles. Also, the hours spent on the fishyfish.com website was invaluable in many ways. I was able to communicate with and even visit numerous other Tolman builders around the PNW, and a few have become good friends. My goal is to get at least as far North as Petersburg, AK in the near future, and if a Tolman rendezvous was to occur within 500 miles I am sure I would find a way to attend.
