Anna is an Alden 47 in the Lady Helene series. She is the only sloop in the series. We have the original drawings both from the start of construction as a ketch and latter converted to Sloop by Alden. She is Kauri on “oak” and full of interesting wood from down under. Her story, as we understand it, is that she spent 10 years in the South Pacific and rounded Cape Horn 3 times before coming to Seattle in the late 1970’s. She then spent time in Alaska, in an IRS impound yard and then as a liveaboard in Seattle. In 2021, we became her caretakers and have been in therapy since.

In 2007, we had new decks installed and extensively rebuilt the cabin top. New sails in 2020 greatly improved our abilities as sailers. That is how I choose to describe the effect of new sails. In 2022, she was repainted. Interior projects continue.
