This boat is still under construction and due to launch in the summer of 2024. I wanted a small, low powered boat to cruise all of Puget Sound. After looking high and low for an appropriate design I settled on Ninigret. However, as designed this boat has minimal cruising accommodation. So, without increasing the weight significantly I added volume to the cabin. This was done primarily by raising the forward sheer by 4″ and extending the cabin aft by one 20″ station. The larger cabin has allowed me to build a forward, anchor handling, hatch that is easily accessible. This is not only convenient, but a huge safety improvement over deck maneuvers. Inside and outside helm positions add to the all season capability of the boat.
Summer of 2024 will be our proving ground time. We fully expect to be back in the shop during the winter to “finish” the inside and cockpit accommodations.
