Inspired by Joshua Slocum’s adventures, the dream of building this boat began in high school when the owner’s father first introduced him to Sailing Alone Around the World. Years of research eventually turned that dream into reality, with construction beginning in 1992.
Built as the perfect retirement cruising boat, she was designed with a shoal draft, a versatile rig, and modifications to the original plans that made her uniquely suited to her owner. Strip-planked with a graceful raised sheer and pilothouse, she reflects three decades of patience, craftsmanship, and determination.
Launched in 2022 after 30 years of dedicated work, she is finally doing what she was built to do: sailing. And while the finishing touches continue, her builder is the first to admit, “I’m still on the steep side of the learning curve.”
