Built at the renown Jensen boatyard in Friday Harbor, Wa. to a Bill Garden design the Puffin is as close to the quintessential Northwest cruiser as is possible. She is heavy, almost 80,000 lbs and sits comfortably on the water without the need for additional stabilizers or aids to her stability. She has a Gardner 6 LXB diesel engine, 3500 lbs. of heavy metal in her full headroom engine compartment. She cruises at 7 plus knots burning just around 2 gallons of diesel per hour. Puffin also is a very comfortable and warm cruiser with her three diesel heaters, two of them in the pilothouse. There are three staterooms in her and she sleeps 6 total. A single head services the crew and there is lots of storage in the Puffin for the gear of Northwest cruising.
