TRE formerly PAN 3, a danish build-from where there is some debate, met the pacific coast in 1962 or so, the year I was born. With an aluminum rig and race numbe 69 and the name of Bongo, she blitzed the course, causing the upset her martini men bargained on and took the Lipton Cup, Bongo made her way to the PNW and then to California, where we began a notorious process of design build with Jim antrim naval Architect and many clever and fascinating boatrights (yes leave out the w please) notably, Lathan Spaulding and Yevigeny Ossipov: Forcola Boatworks LLC and the fine auspices of Hutchinson Marine, Berkeley Marine Center and Shipwrights CoOp. The name TRE or 3 (III) honors her original name and calls us to the future and was fully commissioned in a full bay baptismal in 2016, as called for by the ancestors, whose bloodlines may we heal as we heal ourselves and our seas.
