Thea is a lightweight glued lapstrake version of a Ken Bassett “Liz”. She is 18 ‘ in length with a 3′ beam. The sliding seat frame can mount two feet forward when a passenger is carried in the stern seat. The riggers were changed to right triangles so they can swap sides to move the oarlocks two feet forward. I also added a rudder and a water well that mounts a Hobie Mirage pedal system and/or a Torqeedo electric motor. For both of those options a sling type seat mounts facing forward. Besides having a forward view, this means I don’t need 19’ width of water to navigate in tight spots.
