In Festival Boats 2022

This boat was designed by Renn Tolman who had over 20 years of designing and building skiffs for the commercial fisherman in Homer, Alaska. Tolman skiffs are dory-style skiffs with semi-vee bottoms made of plywood/epoxy/fiberglass (sometimes called stitch-and-glue or composite construction). Renn had built over sixty since 1986 for sport and commercial use, and many others have been built by amateurs and professionals in the US, Canada, New Zealand, Europe, and elsewhere. This particular skiff was built by Tom & Becky with the outstanding help of five graduates of the local Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding. It was finished this summer just in time for this Festival.
