Rage was built at Schooner Creek Boat Works in Portland under a very compressed timetable in order to qualify for a Transpacific Race. Rage has a storied racing career including first to finish in Hawaii and West Coast races. She has also been successfully raced and cruised double-handed. She has a very classic interior which is a delight at sea. She is extremely well balanced and is steered by a tiller. In many conditions, she can be driven under sail by a child. Steve sold Rage to her current owner in 2015. Dave Raney lives in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He has been able to race and cruise Rage successfully despite the distance with the support of the extended Rage “family” who are devoted to her.
