‘Wolfhound’ is the product of many years of our involvement with classic yachts. Amongst her design specifications was a desire for the aesthetic and feel of a wooden boat, an easily managed schooner rig, a shallow draught for extra anchorage options, and a light and airy interior. Comfort was the primary consideration and speed secondary; “if you are enjoying the ride, why hurry”? Having said that, she is a powerful and surprisingly quick yacht considering her beam to water line ratio.
Wolfhound’s name was in memory of two wolfhounds we owned, the traits of which perfectly resonated with the character of the yacht we planned to build. Since Wolfhound’s launch in 2016, we have sailed over 25,000 miles from the UK to Port Townsend via Panama and will be crossing the Pacific to New Zealand and beyond.
