Tall Ship Lady Washington is the official state ship of Washington. A traditionally built replica, she was launched in 1989 for the state centennial. The original vessel played a major role in American history, departing Boston, Mass. on a trading mission on September 30, 1787. The mission was the first American voyage around Cape Horn. She established critical relations and trade with the Native Peoples of the Pacific and helped enter the young United States onto the world stage.
