The 16-foot Sid Skiff is a beautifully crafted rowing and sailing vessel with roots in West Coast workboat tradition. Designed by instructor emeritus Ray Speck and inspired by a 100-year-old Sausalito skiff, this version features two rowing stations, excellent performance under oar or sail, and is the only carvel constructed one of its kind that we know of.

Planked in Western Red Cedar with steam-bent oak frames and Sapele hardwood detailing with spruce spars, the Sid Skiff is both a visual and functional masterpiece. The sprit-rigged sail plan (90 sq. ft.) handles well, with good speed and surprising windward ability, while the wide transom and full hull sections offer stability for new and experienced sailors alike.

Drawing only 9 inches with the kick-up centerboard makes it ideal for beach landings or shallow cruising. Whether rowed, sailed, or powered by a small outboard, the 16′ Sid is a versatile and elegant choice and is built to be used and admired for generations. One set of oars and sail included.
