Serenity traces its origins to a working salmon set-net skiff, a type of boat shaped by long days on cold water and the practical demands of coastal fishing. This style of wooden hull closely resembles the North Eastern English cobleโ€”robust, open craft designed to be launched and hauled in challenging conditions. In my familyโ€™s heritage, cobles were central to fishing and crabbing, earning a living through hard weather, teamwork, and intimate knowledge of tide and sea. That lineage of working boats lives on in Serenity, carrying forward a tradition of utility, resilience, and respect for the waters that sustained generations of fishermen.
