Rybovich hull #65 launched at Little Pete in 1967 from West Palm Beach, Fl. and rechristened Sequel in honor of second-generation design and build legend Tommy Rybovich. Tommy was a WW2 bomber pilot who designed his now world-famous Sport Fisher fair curve from the wing shape of his bomber. Designed on the floor of his family’s boat building shop, Tommy then hand built Little Pete, which ended up being his last complete hull prior to passing. Sequel is back from derelict condition with rebuilt dry rot damaged transom, foredeck, stringers and bulkheads, and extensive termite and hurricane damage. She has been restored to historical standards, but new modern fuel-efficient Volvo engines, and 100% new electrical, mechanical, electronics and other systems. The shipwrights at SEA Marine along with other talented craftspeople in Port Townsend have brought this historic vessel back to life after a 4-year restoration project that began after shipping her on yacht transport from Fort Lauderdale, FL. to Victoria B.C., CN, then Port Townsend during Covid in September 2021. She has been rechristened as Sequel with her world premier showing at the 2025 Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival.
