Rybovich Boat yard in West Palm Beach Florida is now in it’s 4th generation. Tommy Rybovich designed the first modern sportfisher in the 1950’s and refined in the 60’s using cold molded technology and a freeboard design that enabled their sportfisher vessels to run out to the prime fishing grounds off the Florida coast. Tommy Rybovich patterned the unique broken sheer from the wing shape of Tommy’s bomber he flew in WW2. The hull built from three layers of Philippine mahogany covered in three layers of fiberglass is exceptionally strong and quiet. Sadly, Tommy died 1972 from exposure to early pioneering of fiberglass and resin technology after launching “Little Pete” in 1967, hull number 65. Little Pete fished for decades but was neglected and storm battered in the early 2000’s.
