68’ Staysail Schooner S/V “Martha”, Washington’s oldest operational schooner, has significantly contributed to the preservation of maritime culture on the Pacific Coast for
more than 119 years. Martha holds a distinguished place in maritime heritage, representing a vital link to early 20th-century yachting, craftsmanship, and the evolution of recreational sailing. After 60 years of private ownership, Martha became a training vessel and has now served as an educational platform for more than half a century. In recognition of Martha’s importance to maritime education and cultural heritage, she was entered into the National Register of Historic Places in November 2001.
