Dolly was builton Lake Union in 1990 by John Guzzwell, renowned for circumnavigating in the home-built sloop, Trekka, and the subsequent book, Trekka Round the World. Designed as a stretched version of Trekka, she is constructed of cold moulded mahogany, Dolly was a gift of John to his wife, Dorothy. By report, Dorothy was not all that keen on small boat sailing so Dolly was sold to her second owner, Hiroko Sugiyama in the mid 90’s. She was lovingly cared for by Sugiyama, and was recently purchased by new owners from Montana.
