Ariel of Victoria is a one-off northwest design ketch built near Nanaimo in the late 1970s at Fred Peterson’s yard. Carvel planked in yellow cedar on oak frames, originally with cedar deck, she sailed extensively in the Salish Sea under her previous and current owners. Her ongoing restoration represents a careful balance between traditional craft & modern technology to create a handy, comfortable vessel.
