1989 early version of the Devlin Surf Scoter boats. Originally The Prince of Tides, we found it in dry storage by a serendipitous look at Craig’s List. In the previous ten years the engine had only been run less than 9 hours. As Bunky’s Uncle, we brought the boat back to Devlin’s shop. Makenzie Devlin, Sam’s son and partner, refinished the hull, resealed the windows and the boat was then ready for another few decades of cruising. It has a 40 HP Honda engine using about 1.3 gallons/hour at just under seven knots. This early design has the engine enclosed inside the rear transom.
