ALTAIR was built in 1985 by Nexus Marine in Everett WA. A plaque in the cabin says that her original owners were Bob and Mary Lou Basham. Her next owners were Chad Boulay and his father. She spent a number of years in AZ on the trailer before Chad brought her north to his home in Olympia WA. Chad devoted a couple of years to her upkeep, including having extensive work done on the hull and installing upgrades (chart plotter, autopilot, and pilot seating). He took an extended 12-day cruise in the San Juans with his wife in 2023. The current owner bought the boat in early 2024, but spends much of the year in Mexico, and has found that he just doesn’t use the boat. She is in covered storage year-round, so has been wee protected against the NW weather.
