I found Silva in really rough shape then spent 11 years rebuilding her while living aboard in South Park Marina. I used some beautiful Yellow Cedar for her planking and Oregon oak for her frames and stern post stem and knees. Black Locust was used for the rudder and tiller. We finished her in 2001 then sailed her to Canada making a yearly trip to Desolation Sound regularly since. She is a handful in strong winds if not reefed early but I have single handed her on occasion. She has attended the Wooden Boat festival regularly as I really love this event while showing off my pride and joy!
