TALLY HO is a 1910 wooden Gaff Cutter designed by Albert Strange and built in the UK.
Originally built as a deep-sea fishing yacht, she was later raced, cruised, and fished commercially. She famously won the Fastnet race in stormy conditions in 1927.
Eventually TALLY HO was left to rot for many years and in 2017 was in danger of being scrapped. At the last moment the boat was purchased for $1 by boatbuilder Leo Goolden, and was then rebuilt over 7 years by Leo and a dedicated team of volunteers and professionals. She was relaunched in April 2024.
TALLY HO has just returned from her first shakedown cruise around Haida Gwaii and Vancouver Island. Many more adventures await, and one of the goals is to sail back to the UK to compete in the Fastnet race once more.
This project is funded through a series of online videos and a wonderful community of supporters. You can watch the videos to find out a lot more about the project by visiting
