Joyce

In Festival Boats 2023

Joyce was built by the Losvar family in Mukilteo Wa. in 1928. Joyce’s history is sketchy but she suffered years of neglect before finding the Tosdale’s garage. She was bounced around for many years ending up in a backyard upside down for 25 plus years. She held up well considering the elements and critters living under her. She was handed over to Erics friend Don Metke for a rebuild. Two and a half years later, Metke taking into consideration an artist license, rebuilt most everything using a Polaroid picture as guidance. She received a new bow stem, transom, ribs, floor timbers, planks, bulkhead, floor, motor mount, shaft log and detailing. Her original design was not altered however her seating area was redesigned. The original Wisconsin motor powers her.
