Teal

In Festival Boats 2022

TEAL is a venerable part of PNW and Alaska history; built near Coos Bay, OR for the U.S. Government; TEAL spent nearly40 as a coastal patrol vessel in service to the (then) Bureau of Fisheries in the Aleutian Islands and Cook Inlet, AK. TEAL would carry 14 crew onboard, including fishery biologists, and log as many as 11,000 miles seasonally; She would spend winters in Lake Union in Seattle, WA.
Following retirement from federal service, She was sold into private ownership in 1966, beginning a period of steady decline in condition and value, culminating in a lengthy stay ashore at Port Hadlock, WA, which nearly became her final resting place.
After substantial restoration between 1997-99; She has since been adored by several different owners including Kit Pingree of Friday Harbor, WA. who each contributed to her list of upgrades, Current owners Lisa Haug and Amado Shuck are thrilled to be able to continue to maintain and improve TEAL, and enjoy enlisting the help of local artisans, vendors, and classic boating community friends around Puget Sound and Southeast Alaska.
