We welcomed Hob Nob into our family in 2007. Designed by Ed Monk, Sr. for the owner of the Hob Nob Bar and Grill in Tacoma, she was built as a Commencement Bay party boat (the bottle racks in the galley are a testament to this past). Batten seamed mahogany planks on mahogany frames with a semi-displacement hull and powered by a Detroit 353 she isn’t the quietest boat, nor the fastest, but she has heart and despite being lightly framed, has made the trip up the Inside Passage consistently since at least the late 1960’s. Hob Nob returns to festival after an extensive overhaul in Port Townsend Boat Haven which included extensive planking above the waterline, deck and frame repair, transom rebuild, all new caps and rails, stem repair, log guard replacement, and a host of other fixes. A true work in progress, she is a comfortable boat to live on, travel in and see the Pacific Northwest by water.
