Golden Eagle is more than just a boat—she’s a legacy afloat.
Built in 1983 by the renowned McQueen Boat Works of Vancouver, British Columbia, she hails from a golden era of yacht craftsmanship when boats were built to last generations, not production cycles. McQueen was known for producing some of the finest wooden yachts on the West Coast, and Golden Eagle stands proudly among them—an 85-foot symbol of artistry, durability, and timeless design.
Her hull is cold-molded mahogany, a technique favored by McQueen for its strength and smooth, graceful finish. With a classic raised pilothouse design, deep bulwarks, and rich teak decks, she blends rugged seaworthiness with refined elegance. Originally commissioned as a long-range cruiser, Golden Eagle was designed for comfort and stability, offering the kind of ride only a heavy wooden vessel can provide.
Throughout her life, she’s traveled up and down the Pacific Coast, exploring the Inside Passage, anchoring in hidden coves, and tying up at marinas where she never fails to draw admiration. Beneath her decks, her original woodwork has been lovingly maintained—warm mahogany panels, custom joinery, and hand-fitted details that tell the story of a boat built with pride.
Today, Golden Eagle carries a new mission: she’s the full-time home of a family raising four children aboard. She holds their laughter, lessons, and dreams within her hull. Her decks echo with footsteps, her saloon hosts family dinners and homeschooling days. She’s not just a boat; she’s a generational chapter still being written—one tide, one sunset, and one adventure at a time.
