The original builder was a lifelong captain at sea, beginning with racing sailboats off the west coast of Sweden, then a career in the Swedish navy until after WWII, and on for the next ~30 years running sail-powered cargo and research vessels (among other things), before landing in and retiring to California in the 1970s. He moved to Oyster Bay in Bremerton in 1983 and the boat was built there and launched ~1992. After decades of joy teaching kids and grandkids to sail, the family was looking for a way to find a new home with someone who would refit the boat and keep it sailing. Thanks to the Northwest Maritime Center for making the match! Working in the boat shop and learning to love this little sloop through the refit process has been a great experience!
