The Columbia Wildlife is a 17′ touring kayak inspired by the Guillemot design by Nick Schade. It features over 30 different wood variants depicting several different birds of the air and fish of the mighty Columbia River in the Richland, Washington area. The river inlay on the stern of the boat is a true representation and scale of the Columbia where I frequently paddle, showing the confluence of all major river systems including the Yakima, Snake, and Columbia. Additionally, this kayak suffered a significant accident in route to last year’s boat festival as it took flight and landed in the middle of I-90 in Ellenburg, Wa. Yes, it was a heavy blow to my psychological well being, I was fortunately able to successfully rebuild and restore the boat back to an even-better state of existence. Here it is once again for all you wonderful boating enthusiasts to enjoy.
