Keno

In Festival Boats 2022

This boat was designed and built by renowned boatwright, William H. Grunwald of Aeolus Yachts (who is listed and exhibited in the San Francisco National Maritime Historical Park and Museum). Keno was built in the late 1980s, The design is based on an early 20th Century “Fantail Skipjack”, which was used extensively in the fishing industry of the New Foundland/Labrador/Nova Scotia areas of Canada. The woods used in the boat construction are primarily African and Philippine Mahogany. The inboard motor is a faithful reproduction of the extremely reliable “Puck-A-Puck” (no spark plug!) and was built by the Atlantic Foundry Company (established in 1910). It sat in a garage in the land-locked desert town of Phellan, Nevada for most of its life, being brought to the Puget Sound area by its current owner last year.
