TwoBits

In Festival Boats 2017

TwoBits was originally built as an open launch in 1932 and used as a tender to the North Star, a 230′ vessel owned by the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Both were built by the Berg Shipyard in Ballard, WA. The TwoBits was used as a “leiter” or barge to take supplies to Indian villages up the west coast of Vancouver Island and Alaska. In 1953 the TwoBits was converted to a small harbor tug, repowered with a 40hp diesel and adding the house.
