Registered in Cape Sable, N.S. under the name “Norman D II”. Purchased by the Okes in 2009 and renamed “Shooting Star.” “Shooting Star” was built by an unknown builder as a lobster boat. The cabin was probably extended sometime in the 1960s. “Shooting Star” is being extensively renovated by Kevin Oke to make it a more comfortable cruising boat. “Shooting Star’s” construction is cedar planking with fir framing. A double hull consists of an outer layer of marine plywood below the waterline. She is powered by a 6 cylinder Chrysler/Nissan diesel engine.
