RoxyLou

RoxyLou is in the last stages of construction at the NorthWest School of WoodenBoat Building in Port Hadlock, WA. She is being created using modern wood boat construction methods and materials. Her hull is strip planked with western red cedar and her bottom and decks are laminated layers of marine plywood. She is completely sheathed with epoxy and fiber glass. Her coach roof and engine hatch are vacuum impregnated with epoxy and a foam core. She represents a long tradition of vee bottom semi displacement hull design that can be traced back to the famous designer William Hand.
Her interior is classic and comfortable with a vee berth, propane fireplace, freshwater head and a small galley. Her covered pilothouse is perfect for pacific northwest cruising, offering great visibility and adequate protection from the elements. The deep cockpit is self-bailing with comfortable seating and storage. A great feature is the 60 HP outboard motor completely enclosed in a motor well aft. Quiet, attractive and offering excellent access.
She cruises comfortably at 10 to 12 knots with a top speed of 17 knots.
