Venetia is a Scottish built trawler based on a Scottish fishing boat designed by Laurent Giles. Commissioned by Norval and Josephine Diamond in 1959. Norval and “Jo” cruised the coast of England across to Belgium, through the rivers and canals of France to Marseilles on to Genoa, Italy. From Genoa Venetia was shipped to New Orleans where the cruise was continued to New England where the vessel was shipped to Oakland and on to her new home port of San Diego. After 18 years the Diamonds sold Venetia. Gradually Venetia made her way through various names and owners North to Anacortes where we purchased the vessel and returned her name to Venetia.
